After a few minutes veer right again onto the Daylesford Trentham Road. Stay on this road. This peaceful spot in the Wombat Forest will be on your left after nearly 8km (nearly 5 miles).

Alternatively, to drive yourself, turn left onto the Main South Coast Rd and continue on this road as it turns inland and becomes the Cross Island Road. Next, turn left onto the Main West Coast Road, driving past the airport to Mulifanua Wharf (approx. 40 mins drive from Coconuts). Take the ferry across to Savaii (approx. 2 hour journey). Look out for flying fish in the sapphire blue of the Apolima Strait. Once in Savaii, drive from the ferry terminal up to the Main South Coast Rd and turn right. This will become the Main North Coast Rd as you drive north around the island. After about 45 minutes you will see the Saleaula Lava Fields on your right.

At this point there will be a path to your right that you can walk through this forest.

Follow this road for another 2 ½ miles to the parking area. Walk past Benham Falls on the main path until you reach the bridge and this view of the Deschutes.
