Disciples of Tzeentch review – Bad Dice episode 152 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Mark and Steve return to the Bad Dice Podcast to chat about the disciples of Tzeentch. We recorded on the same day that the Karadron Overlord photos were released so gave our thoughts on the new toys. In this episode we didn’t want to go down the route of a battletome review where we talk about all the abilities and Warscrolls in the book.  Instead we talk about our actual in game experiences and how we have all found the Disciples of Tzeentch so far. We start off talking about the lists that Steve and Mark played at recent tournaments then move in to talking about the various Tzeentch units that we have tested.  Gorechosen Review – How it plays – Ep 148 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:18

Gorechosen Review – How it plays – Ep 148 Gorechosen is the latest boxed game from Games Workshop.  On this episode I talk about how the games plays, whats in the box and my thoughts on Gorechosen from initial impressions and my revised view after playing the game. Myself and 3 meets got together one night last week and played the game.  To give an idea of the time frame, I left my house at 7.30pm and was home by 11pm.  This included a 40mins drive each way to the pub we were meeting at to play, the usual chatting and socialising that starts and ends a games night, reading through the rules, setting up the board and playing 2 games. In real terms thats around 40-60 mins for a 4 player game.  2 players should play even faster. Unboxing It goes without saying that the game is amazing value when compared to buying the models alone.  If you have a Bloodbound army and fancy picking up any 2 of the characters in this box then it is cheaper to buy the game than buy the characters directly. from Games Workshop Glory to Khorne! The Bloodbound – these are the lunatics who have passed the trials of Khorne, proving themselves worthy of his violent gifts. Since the dawn of the Age of Chaos, they have destroyed kingdoms and empires in a stunning tide of ferocity, reaping blood and skulls for their god. The most devoted, those who have trodden the bloodstained Path to Glory, are the Gorechosen. True glory for these elites of Chaos lies in offering the mightiest skulls to Khorne – and what skull mightier than that of another Gorechosen? The Game Gorechosen is a game of brutal, fast-paced arena combat for 2-4 players. In this game, four champions of Khorne are thrown into the pit, fighting bitterly against each other to prove who is the most worthy of the Blood God’s gifts! Fight every man for himself, or team up against the strongest player to decide who is the most favoured of Khorne – lots of variations and tweaks to the bloodthirsty core game rules are included. The Contents – 4 Gorechosen Champion miniatures, each with their own ultraviolent playing styles and signature moves: – Redarg Bloodfane, Exalted Deathbringer; – Kore Hammerskull, Skullgrinder; – Heldrax Goretouched, Slaughterpriest; – Vexnar the Reaper, Aspiring Deathbringer; – a double-sided arena board with hex grid; – 4 Fighter Reference cards, with rules and health trackers; – 52 Action, Initiative and Critical Injury cards; – 16 page rulebook; – assorted tokens and dice necessary to play. Setting up and playing a game of Gorechosen should take around an hour – quick enough to please the Blood God. Let the carnage begin! What the official list of accessories doesn’t mention is that you also get a plastic insert to the box that holds all your accessories and playing pieces for both storage and also game play including places to keep your assembled models. Gameplay The game is easy to set up and begin playing with 2 decks of cards to determine the order you take your turns and the things you can do in your turn.  The playing board, a player sheet to track abilities and damage and also a ‘Wrath tracker’ as the other main items to set up, this takes only a few seconds. Each round you compile the initiative deck with each player getting 1 card put in the deck relative to their current level of Wrath.  Each player is dealt 5 action cards. The game play continues by turning over the top initiative card to see which player gets to take a turn. A player take a turn by choosing an action card from thie hand and performing one action on that card, usually a move or attack but there are also other special actions available to be used. Once that player has resolved their action the top card in the initiate deck is ...

AoS app, Bases and Alliance | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 20:48

Apps, Bases and Alliance. In this episode I talk about the Age of Sigmar App, Shattered Dominion Bases and the tournament I ran last weekend. I’ve started a daily video series on Facebook Live. See all the videos at baddice.co.uk/facebook The Shattered Dominion bases are out now and I have seen people using them. They look great when finished but i’m not sure they are a 1 stop solution and need a bit more effort than a single dry brush. I’ve been rebasing my Dark Alves and like how they are turning out but will be adding grass tufts, leaves and snow. The AoS App. I’d love to get together a features list to send in to games workshop. Let me know what you would like to see from the Age of Sigmar app and how your would like it to work.  South Coast GT lists in Generals Handbook | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:20:33

South Coast GT lists in Generals Handbook Ben, Mark and Steve get together to compare their South Coast GT lists to how they come out with Generals Handbook points. On the sow we talked about the lists that we all took to SCGT, how money points they came in at under the generals handbook and how the scenarios would effect the choices we made n our lists. A big change is the ‘sideboard’ as its become known, where, in South Coast GT lists, you get to take 150 pool points and use 100 per game.  This is not included in the Generals Handbook so we would have tough choices to make when writing lists. Marks Moonclan army: Skarsnik 3 shamans 2 bolt throwers 2 doom divers 80 night goblins 20 squigs 10 herders 12 fanatics 1 mangler 2140.  Beastclaw Raiders Battletome review | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Beastclaw Raiders Battletome review Beastclaw Raiders are released this week and I have an early copy of the Battle Tome to review in this episode. The Beastclaw Raiders have an awesome new backstory to suite their new home in the mortal realms. The faction is lead by the Frostlords riding Stornhorns and Thundertusks and lead a nomadic life riding the edge of the overwinter bringing destruction to all who stand in there path and leave nothing but ruin in the wake of the storm. Frost lords are supported by their Huskars and backed up by packs of Mournfangs. Beastclaw Raiders Battletome includes rules for Allegiance abilities, command traits and artefacts of power. Similarly to the Flesh Eater Courts, the Stonehorn and Thundertusk kits have been re-imagined to create 6 separate war scrolls from the single monster kit. Frostlord, Huskar and Beastclaw Rider. Along with the battletome there is a new army box released. The contents include 2 Stornhorn/Thundertusks, 4 Mournfangs, 3 Yetis, a Hunter and 4 Frost Sabers. Its priced at £135 and comes in at around 1600 Pitched battle points. With some discount from any of the independent retailers you should be able to pick up this and another Stornhorn to get a 2000 points matched play army for less than £150. Allegiance Abilities. Since the generals Handbook was released every new battle tome has included these fantastic new rules for changing how a faction plays.  Beastclaw Raiders are no different and they have a couple of great abilities. Beastclaw Stampede: When a Beastclaw Raider unit charges they can re-roll 1’s to wound in the combat phase. The Everwinters Blessing: Roll on a chart in each hero phase for a chance to preroll failed saves of a 1, get and extra move or dish out mortal wounds to nearby enemy units. Command Traits * Massive Bulk – +1 Wound * Overwinters Master – Reroll on the Overwinters Blessing Chart * Avalanche Voice – +8″ to Command ability range * Famed Hunter – retools Hit rolls of 1 o n your general * Beast-eater – Reroll wounds vs Monsters * Fearsome Leader – -1 Braver to nearby enemy units Magical Artefacts There are 6 new magic artefacts in the Beastclaw Raiders battletome. The Elixir of Frostwyrm deals damage to an entry unit in 9″, Th eBleeding Skull Dagger lets you unbind spells, Pelt of Charngar heals wounds, Blade of All-Frost Adds 1 damage to a melee weapon and can stop a hero or monster from fighting, Tokens of the Everwinter are amazing! The bearer can use them to preroll hit, winds and saves for a turn, and the Ice Mammoth Skull Plate lets the wearer re-roll all saves against – Rend attacks. Overall its another really cool battletome that re-imagines an existing faction and breaths new life into them with only a few new war scroll combinations and some new rules.  The highlight for me is the brand new backstory that suits the Beastclaw raiders in the Mortal Realms.  Shattered Dominion and New bases – Episode 143 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:11

Shattered Dominion and New bases The Shattered Dominion realm of battle board has finally hit the stores and is accompanied by a battletome: Dominion of Chaos that is on pre-order this week alongside a huge range of other Age of Sigmar new releases. On this episode i talk about the Start Collecting sets for Sylvaneth, Ironjawz, Bloodhound, Stormcast and Flesh Eater Courts. I like the look of this new style of starter kits and am really tempted to pick one up.   Hacking Golden Demon I recently asked if there were any ‘shortcuts’ to a Golden Demon and was told a resounding NO. But in receiving that no I also was given a lot of advice and that in itself is a shortcut (or hack) I decided to try and put this into action and 10X my painting by taking some tips and trying out some advanced skills for the first time. This is my results so far (more can be see on my TGA.Community painting blog) I’ve been painting with games workshop paints and water.  No Airbrush or mediums used.  I’ve been thinning y parts to the same consistency as the Glaze paints and applying in very thin layers using more water to blend the colours on the model. I’ve not been blending colours together, just using thin paint blended out with water to create the transitions. To get to the stage in these photos has taken less than 2 hours. He is still work in progress but I am aiming to get finished quickly and try the same techiques on a smaller model. Bases I’ve been keen to rebase my Dark Elfs and the new range of plastic bases had given me the ideal opportunity. You Tube Get the video of this episode here   Questions?  Battletome Bonesplitterz review – ep142 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 20:43

Battletome Bonesplitterz review Battletome Bonesplitterz is the main topic in episode 142.  I also talk about the release of Shar’Tor the Executioner, Getting Started in Age of Sigmar and the new start collecting boxes that have gone on sale this weekend. Battletome Bonesplitterz The Bonesplitterz Faction are getting the full sylvaneth treatment.  A brand new huge battletome packed full of war scrolls, battle plans, Allegiance abilities, battle traits, Spell lores and lots more.  This is a signal for the future of Age of Sigmar.  A new battletome for an existing model range with a whole slew of new rules.  If every faction in Age of Sigmar gets a book like this then its going to massively change the shape of the game. The Bonesplitterz faction is themed around monster hunting and killing.  They are field buy the power of the Waaagh and driven wild by the power of Gorkamorka.  The Bonesplitterz believe that their god’s spirit is bound inside monsters and they can absorb the power by killing them. New allegiance abilities can be found in the battletome that are themed around killing monsters. Bonesplitterz battle traits give all bonesplitterz a 6+ save against Mortal Wounds and an armour save roll of a 6 before modifiers is always a pass. There are some fantastic battalions themed around the famed warclans and allow you to build armies with various bonus abilities. Shar’Tor the Executioner. Forge World have put Shar’tor the Executioner on pre order this weekend He is a Bull Centaur Hero model and the first in a new range of an Age of Sigmar Character Series. I posted a unboxing review when he went on sale at Warhammer fest a few months ago. Getting Started with Age of Sigmar Also released this week is a range of new introduction kits and a fantastic new magazine to get ne people into the game. The magazine is presented in an almost graphic novel format crammed cover to cover with information about Age of Sigmar and also includes a free plastic liberator. The new starter kits are like a cut down version of the original Age of Sigmar boxed game Questions? If you have any questions at all about this episode feel free to get in touch.
