A Demo of Catapult in Action (video) | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 8:50

I mentioned using Catapult last week in the post about my workflow for using Fujifilm X-Trans files in Aperture. I thought Id create a quick video demo to show catapult in action for those who've never used it or heard of it. Catapult is actually pretty cool. It allows you to send your raw files from Aperture to a third party piece of software, and it will also handle the re-importing of the finished results back into Aperture. It's kind of hard to fully explain without seeing it in action, so here's a video of it in action! Enjoy. By the way, you can get catapult from brushed pixel. [UPDATE] There appears to be an issue with the Podcast feed showing up in iTunes. I'm not sure what is going on, but I've contacted Apple for clarification.

Video: Tinting Black and White Images With Curves | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 11:23

Here's a little technique I've been working on for a little while on how to create black and white images and then tint them using the curves tool. In this video I'll show you my recipe for creating a black and white image, and also how to use the curves tool to give your image an overall colour tint, as well as how to tint just the shadows or the highlights In the video I created a preset so you can try the same effects and you can get it here.

Video: Image Editing With Plug-ins in Aperture | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

I just came back from a trip to the wonderful city of Vienna and I had lots of shots of buildings and monuments. unfortunately, because the lens I was using has lots of distortion I had to rely on some external plug-ins for getting the best from the images. In order to give you a glimpse at the workflow I was using, and also some tips for using plug-ins I recorded a little video.

Video: Reconnecting Moved Masters | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

I recently got a new Hard drive to store all my images on (more on that in a later post) and I moved my library over. Unfortunately some of my images were referenced and I had to re-locate them manually. In this video I show you how that's done.

Video: Aperture’s Clone Tool In Action | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 4:57

In this short video I give a quick demonstration of the clone tool in action and show you how I got rid of a distracting element using just the clone operation of the retouch brush. It's not a full tutorial by any means, but if you've never played with the clone option this will give you a taste for what it can do.

Video: Silver Efex Pro 2 Walk Through | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 14:20

I put together this little video walk through of my favorite Aperture plug-in, Silver Efex Pro to show you an example of using it in an everyday scenario. It's not a comprehensive tutorial and it doesn't show every feature, but I figured the best way to show off what it can do is to use it with a few photos as I would normally and let you see the process.
