Wine: The Good, The Bad and The Ingredients Your Label Didn't Tell You About | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:00

The average consumer takes for granted that not all wines are created equally. Conscious consumers know that there are 200 ingredients on the list of government-approved additives for wine. Unlike food, wine manufacturers are not required to list their ingredients (which can include animal proteins, oak chips, sulfurs, yeasts, enzymes, preservatives, and “Mega Purple” which is a brand of highly concentrated wine color) on the side label. This renders most consumers to be clueless about what exactly is in their wine and what is used to produce it. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to award winning expert, Alice Feiring about her best-selling book, Naked Wine, the process of natural wine making. Alice Feiring is an award-winning food and wine journalist and author of the Battle for Wine and Love. Formerly the wine/travel columnist for Time, she now writes for the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Conde Nast Traveler and the Los Angeles Times Magazine, among many others.  A Global Effort To Ban Canned Hunting | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:34:00

Recently, a German multi-millionaire named Rainer Schorr ignited a global outrage when he paid $60,000 to kill Africa's biggest elephant. He later posed with his 'trophy' without any remorse for his actions. This was merely a few short weeks after American dentist, Walter Palmer shelled out $50,000 to shoot and kill Cecil the lion. Cecil was beloved by tourists and locals in Zimbabwe. Palmer also showed no remorse as he posed with the once majestic lion.  Although the global community was outraged, their actions remain perfectly legal. For many years, groups like LionAid and White Lion Trust, as well as countless others have been advocating for the protection of big cats and other wildlife. educating the world about the dwindling global lion population, they are still not a protected species. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Stephen Travis, President of ProtectingAfricanLions.org about new efforts to globally ban canned hunting. Stay tuned.
