Cynthia describes how she got into making films and offers some guidance for individuals interested in making documentaries. A Right Wing domestic terrorist murdered a police officer and 2 civilians. He entered a Planned Parenthood with what seemed like an AK-47. While Americans have been showing an irrational fear for ISIS, it is evident that they should be more concerned with domestic terrorism. This is not new. Regina Hufnagel of L.E.A.P. stops by to speak about justice. "On the same day that I released a serial child molester from federal prison after his 3-year sentence, I released a low-level, non-violent drug user who had served 15 years." After a stint in Bosnia in support of Operation Joint Forge, Regina began employment with the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a Correctional Officer. “I like the idea of helping people. What law enforcement actually is, though, is a far cry from what I thought I'd be doing.” She was dismayed that the drug war affects people who committed “crimes without victims.” She strongly believes that nonviolent drug users don’t deserve to be treated like murderers and rapists. She also noticed that when people are finally released from prison, they have trouble finding employment, educational opportunities, and are often unable to vote. “There were tons of men in prison who had no business being there. I used to watch their children go into the visiting room in the prison and know they were the 'Future Inmates Of America. President Obama called out the rampant fearmongering. He call out Republicans and the irrational actions by many governors of both parties throughout the country. There is an irrational fear of the Syrian refugees. Sadly that irrational fear is being stoked by many in the Right Wing. Unfortunately many are  acquiescing to the bigotry instead of fighting it. 47 Democrats joined Republicans to make it virtually impossible for Syrian refugees to emigrate to the U.S. It is time for average American citizens to call out the demagogues and ensure that they pay the price for their bigotry. I am extremely concerned that Democrats, specifically Democratic pundits and activist are living in a huge echo chamber, a bubble even bigger than the characterized by the Right Wing. While many sit back in their aura of superior intelligence, the GOP field is lying to the hearts of many yearning to get out of the morass that is their lives. Never do those in the GOP tell them that their economic woes are a direct result of GOP policies that keep the boots on their necks. Instead of actively engaging the community to counteract much of the fallacies, many simply sit back believing that Americans cannot fall for the silly train. But the fact is we have a party, the Republican Party, whose current policies hurt the very people who vote for them, yet they hold more offices of consequence than Democrats.
