As Christians, we have so much for which to be thankful. But sometimes we lose our focus, as we get side tracked by life’s responsibilities, struggles, and challenges. Before we know it, our joy is gone, and we end up expressing a bitter, ungrateful spirit.
In a difficult situation our best response should always be to turn to the Lord and seek His guidance. Dr. Stanley reminds us that God is our Shield and Protector and He promises to guide us through difficult times. Any time we’re willing to acknowledge our inadequacy and ask the Lord to give us direction, He will. Instead of relying on our abilities, we need to rely on His. When we have no one else to turn to, we can find encouragement by going to the Lord for guidance.
There are all kinds of personality types in the world, but the question is, what kind of people does God intend us to be? Yes, God is our great Encourager, but He calls upon us to be encouragers as well. Dr. Stanley identifies numerous biblical commands given to help us become more fervent motivators of other people. He goes on to show us how encouragement is a major theme in Scripture, pointing to the examples of godly encouragers in the New Testament.
Some people are naturally outgoing and social. Others are more quiet and introverted. There are all kinds of personality types in the world, but the question is, what kind of people does God intend us to be? Yes, God is our great Encourager, but He calls upon us to be encouragers as well.
When we experience discouragement, where should we turn? Though it may not feel like it at times, discouragement is a choice. We can either allow circumstances to drag us down into depression and despair or we can look to our encouraging God.

It’s good to give thanks to God, but why? In this sermon, Dr. Stanley shows us what giving thanks to God looked like in biblical times and what it should look like now. He helps us see why thankfulness is important in the everyday and how a grateful heart brings glory to Him.
Dr. Stanley asks the question, 'Is there a limit to God's patience?' Whether thinking about their own lives, or looking around at the world, many people often ask themselves the same question. The Bible says that God is slow to anger, but Dr. Stanley teaches the truth that there also is a limit. Learn the primary reasons for God's patience and how to live your life on solid ground.

We've all had times in our lives when we've failed and wish we could have done better. We may respond to such times by feeling sorry for ourselves or by blaming others. The truth is, however, that we have a great advantage to be successful in life. Not success as the world defines it, but as God defines it. True success is discovering and pursuing the will of God for our lives in the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives within us!
