New Music Monday - Free music podcast by two seconds away
Summary: New Music Monday is at its core very simple. Every first Monday of the month for a year, we (two seconds away) will be writing, recording, and releasing a new song for free! So you can either come back to newmusicmonday.com every month for your fix OR you can subscribe in itunes and have it downloaded automatically! New Music Monday first began in 2008 with a new song every week and all 52 of our original songs are available for purchase from iTunes.
Long time no music! Sorry about that... Still no music, but here's a quick update so at least that's something!
We know... we know. Its been way too long since we posted something. We've been feeling the crunch too and have really been getting the itch to release some new material, but in the meantime here's a live cover for you.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Here's a little Christmas treat. Enjoy!
a simple acoustic cover of Sara Bareilles' Love Song
For this month’s song we did a lovely little lullaby. And since its past my bedtime “Late Night Lullaby” seemed like a a fitting title. Enjoy!
For our 4th song of the month Patrick recorded a nice acoustic cover of the Fray. Visit NewMusicMonday.com for more about the song, the band, or the free music project.
One of the cool things about doing this music thing is we get to meet some other really talented musicians. So we thought since we're only writing a song a month for 2010, why not feature some of those musicians every now and then? To kick things off we decided to feature Kyle Blake. He's a super talented guy that we met back when we were at K-State in Manhattan, KS. Kyle just finished up his second album "Kid From Kansas" and it sounds awesome. We went over to his house and did a little interview with him and had him play an acoustic number for us. So check him out and if you like what you hear then go buy his stuff!
For February's song, Daybreak, we used a mix of digital and analog, natural and effected, software instruments and real instruments. The end result is a cinematic, soundtrack sort of song.
Its the first song of the month for 2010. For more info about our new song of a month project visit newmusicmonday.com
This song took some recycled portions from an older song that we did. The finished product turned into one of our favorite songs yet.
listen to Patrick and Tim talk about the commentary to Lost For Words... if that doesn't sound exciting I don't know what does!
One of our more "electronic" sounding songs, "If All Goes Well" was actually recorded entirely on an acoustic guitar.
Song #43 took a more public approach in its evolution. Visit NewMusicMonday.com to see the evolution of "Lonely Word."
