...The Life of Brian was a masterpiece and totally summed up the stupidity of the majority of the human race...and what made it even funnier was all the pompous critics who totally missed the point of it...especially the Americans who regarded it as sacrilege... I have yet to see the point of space travel....we are constantly subjected to TV programmes about astronauts being trained to go to various planets up there...WHY?... There is no escape from the Harry and Meghan pantomime....the royal family will soon be on Coronation Street... And he's back....our royal Prince Andrew is not co-operating with the FBI regarding the Epstein scandal..

I don't think I can take much more of Harry and Meghan....they are STILL headlining the news....Harry has just made a speech "explaining" why he wants to get out of the Royal Family which has brought everyone out of the woodwork again with their criticisms and opinions Considering we keep being told that money can't be found for this and that it is amazing how it can be found for something totally needless like the HS2 railway project......which we are told will now cost 150 billion. .....all very well except the mural is huge and is on the side of a building and becomes the first thing you see when you come around the corner....so you can imagine how well this has gone down with the local residents..... Paul McCarney's stepmum Angie has written a book about her life which I have played a very small part in....I met Angie and her daughter Ruth back in the early seventies through a friend of mine and a few years later they formed a publishing company in Birkenhead which I was signed up to and we became good friends... The song this week is one I wrote when I was with Angie's publishing company....she asked me to write a song for Cannon and Ball as she knew them...and this was it....they never did it and several years later I dropped it off at a local theatre for The Krankies who were appearing there.

The Iranian crisis has been heavily covered on the news with everyone having an opinion as to what will happen next.. Then we have the the fires in Australia which are REAL problems....we sit back and watch it all unfold on the news and comment on how awful it is but when you give it a bit of deeper thought it is...... On a lighter note we have a selection of new game shows on our TVs...."Cash Strapped" which features Bradley Walsh who is never off our screens... I took my 5 year old Grandson to the local panto in New Brighton....it was Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.... We also have the return of Dancing On Ice where one of the contestants has already injured himself.. the song this week is about one of the greats...Burt Lancaster....there were a few rumours knocking around in the past about his "preferences" as he apparently spent a lot of time in male company..

After all the panic buying and aggression in the shops and traffic totally out of control with cars racing around and honking horns it is finally over and we can get back to normal.....it's ONE DAY!!! that's all.......... And as for the television over the Christmas period....again I despair....rubbish films and repeats of quiz shows....pure garbage on virtually every channel....even finding a decent film on Netflix is a major job.. And on the subject of television I would love to know what is the point of "pundits" on Match of the Day.....all they do is discuss what we have just seen...why don't they just pipe down and get on with the next match? Mike Pender has been awarded an M.B.E......which just about sums up the awards system in this country as only those of a certain age will remember Mike and as he left The Searchers many moons ago I am wondering what his great contribution to music actually is?.. I have a pal who drives an an all electric TESLA.....when he bought it (which cost 60 grand) he was pleased with it as he had the promise of zero tax and free hook ups to charge it..... The song this week is one I found in a drawer....it is one I wrote in the 80's for Pauline Daniels who is a singer and comedienne and was a good friend of mine....she did quite a bit of session work for me back in tithe day...

Again we have a bit of racism and misbehaviour at a football match....this time it was the Manchester derby when some idiot threw a lighter and hit one of the players and someone else did "racist" monkey chants..... I watched the Robbie Williams show which was somewhat underwhelming....he's not a...Robbie's head looks like a coconut....but it's FASHION and fills the hairdresser's bank balances......not forgetting the jeans worn low enough to just stay up......and this plus the shaved head looks like their head is upside down....just saying. I saw a very funny photo on Facebook of a camping equipment shop called Richard 111....and in the widow was a sign which said "now is the winter of our discount tents" ...and another hairdresser called "Maggie's Thatchery"...... And on the subject of humour...or lack of it.......fortunately we have Piers Morgan who threw in his three pennyworth....and was he sympathetic?.....FAT CHANCE!!....if you are fat you are fat...either sort it or get over it. And finally ...I watched Jane McDonald cruising down the Mediterranean and ravingabout how wonderful cruising is........I'm sure the bloke in the shop doorway with his blanket would be delighted for the customers. The song this week is entitled A Mighty Big Girl and was the song picked up by wrestler Adrian Street in the 80s and began a long friendship.......some of which were played on MTV in the States and some got into a movie...so here it is "A Mighty Big Girl"
