Yes, the next edition of The Wyrd Ways Rock Show has finally arrived. Some of you probably thought you'd never be hearing my dulcet tones again. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm back. Anyway, there's been a fair amount of music been released during the last few months, so you'll be getting to hear just some of the things that caught my ear. I can't guarantee something for everyone, but if you've got similar tastes to me, you'll love it. As well as all the wonderful new(ish)ness from your more established bands, you'll also find three bands you've almost certainly never heard before in Shock Of The New and this week's Record Of The Week. If you want to find out what that is... well, if you could scroll down to the playlist, but you'll only be cheating yourself. You'll also make me very disappointed in you. Don't be that person. You owe it to yourself.

There are two classic bands represented in this week's edition of The Wyrd Ways Rock Show. One is in there because they have a new album out, and it's Record Of The Week (and yes, I now have a theme tune sorted out for that). The other is because one of the former members of this particular band is about to go out on tour, celebrating his time as a member. Those two bands are Judas Priest and Deep Purple Mk III and IV, who featured Glenn Hughes. He's the one doing the tour, by the way. As for the rest, there's three bands you've probably never heard before (unless you're constantly furtling around on Bandcamp), another song getting a going over in Covered. Not only that lot, but we've also got something brand new from both Ritchie Blackmore and Michael Schenker. Guitar hero-tastic! The real question is why are you still reading this when you could be giving your ears their just rewards by plugging them in to The Wyrd Ways Rock Show and playing it extremely loud. Be impure! Be vigilant! Misbehave!

Hello friends! The not-writing-a-script experiment continues. How's it working for you? I'm finding that just writing some notes is an interesting way of doing things, and I probably sound a little less like I'm just reading it out. Obviously. Anyway, sorry this one's a bit late, but had some bad head days recently (which has meant re-upping the medication) and I've also been playing a little too much Destiny 2, which is really enjoyable in campaign mode, despite what certain people on the internet will try to tell you. Obviously you'll want to know what's in this week's show. So here's the brief: since Andy Sneap is joining Judas Priest's touring line-up to sub in for Glenn Tipton, I thought I'd give you a taste of Mr Sneap's past recording exploits. So if you like Sabbat and Hell, you're in luck. There's some prime slices of quality stuff from those two bands. As for Covered, I've found a truly awesome version of one of my favourite songs, featuring a band too many of you will never have heard of. That's something that definitely needs to change. So it will. You'll also find three bands you've almost certainly never heard before in Shock Of The New and this week's Record Of The Week... well, if you go and look for the playlist, you're only cheating yourself. It's time for another Wyrd Ways Rock Show... and may the Gods of Metal have mercy on your blackened soul, my friends! Anyway, carrying on the experiment from last week (yes, that was only a week ago - I am starting to get these things out more like when they should be again), I recorded the show pretty much "as live", with no script, just a few notes down the side of the playlist, so any rambling is... well... just the way my mind works. In case you're wondering, the band on the image are Legend Of The Seagullmen, and they managed to claim the accolade of Record Of The Week. Give the show a proper listen and you'll find out how and why. What are you waiting for?

It's time for another Wyrd Ways Rock Show, you lucky people! This week's show is something of an experiment - I didn't write a script and the only editing I did was to cut the length of some of the pauses in my speech patterns. Other than that, this is pretty much "as live". Sorry to say you'll hear my personal stream of consciousness as I recorded the show. Musically, it's a real mix. There's Classic Metal, Nu-Nu Metal, Melodic Death Metal and Power Metal, plus a few others. Pretty much something for everyone. So long as you like a bit of Metal in your musical diet. So what are you waiting for? You know the drill. Download and turn it up!

Here we go with the first proper show for 2018. As usual, as you've come to expect since I started this whole thing back in 2008 (yes, it has been nearly 10 years!), you'll be treated to a grab-bag of the best up-and-coming Hard Rock and Metal alongside the best of what's out there already. Since it looks like the usual Christmas/New Year release drought has come to an end, what have we got for you? New stuff from Judas Priest, Korn's Jonathon Davis, Black Moth and the mighty Monster Magnet. Also, since the last surviving member of the Motorhead line-up that recorded the likes of Ace Of Spades, Bomber, Overkill, Iron Fist, No Sleep Til Hammersmith and others, has passed away at 67, we'll be paying tribute to the legend who was Fast Eddie Clarke. Turn it up and praise the loud!

It's finally here. The show you've been waiting for. Eighty-one (couldn't resist putting in the Electric Wizard track, even though I did say I was going to limit it to 80) songs covering a plethora of sub-genres including Death, Black, Pirate, Thrash and Proper Heavy Metal. There's an enormous amount of excellent music here. The most interesting segment, though, is the one that a loud minority seem to think doesn't exist: Good new bands, in which you will find contributions from Skarlett Riot, Warbringer, Dorja and a good many others from around the world.
