Latest mix from our very own DJ Swea See more.
a favourite of ours at FMH, DJ Bryan Jones' first installment of four throwback mixes that we have had on rotation at the fmh hq for a little while now. and while we always recommend the full listen-through (especially when we're talking about a release by one of the greats), skip to our favourite part to get your ears wet with a sample of what's to come. need more? here's the truth.
Hey y'all! Hope urbody is doing a-ok! We've been away for a while, but we're back on the train and from the looks of everything, back on track with the show. For those of you who are familiar with the FMH bent, you'll already know the type of music we like to play here. For those who don't, well, take an already funky tune and add some soul, more funk, tad of sexy and jack up the beat a bit and you'll get the idea... This being the inaugural 'return' of FMH radio we thought it appropriate to have it coincide with dj swea's big three-oh! Sadly, Swea's partner in crime, JJ Rasmussen is now living out in England so his witty repartee will be absent from this series of mixtapes. However, the rumour is that he will be starting up a FMH radio show out there sometime shortly so look for those postings as well... For those listeners in the northern hemisphere, spring is finally on it's way. That means afternoon patio sessions, sunnies, flip-flops, and a noticeable decrease in the amount of clothing. We hope you enjoy this mix and look for lots more from the FMH crew as time goes on. Stay funky.

happy new years urrrbody! we're baaaaaaaaaack! a blast from the pizzast from one of the best house dj's and producers ever. cheers!
HNY and a big word up to y'all! jj el razmatazz retired his old macbook a few days ago but before he pitched it, he backed up the old audio files on to a new external. we spent a few days going through all the old material on it and came across a few larger, unnamed recording sessions dating back to as early as 2006! it took us a while, but we finally realized that they were from a few of dj swea's late night afterparty sessions at the st. andrews street loft, thought to be lost in the move back to calgary. coinciding with this post is a special announcement of the return of FMH RADIO which will commence sometime early in the new year. the final details have yet to be ironed out but rest assured that JJ, SWEA, IRFAAN, and the rest of the FMH crew are hard at work to deliver a slick selection of funkass beats to you in 2011. so, without further delay, here is a wicked fun set that is totally banginy, bumpiny, blipiny, bleepiny, acidy, basicy, stomptasticky trip to two thousand six. long live the funk. thanks for sticking with us.
This is a recording of the most recent installment of 'grin n friends syndicated radio show compiled and mixed by one of the godfathers of afro-beat and house: demarkus lewis! enjoy!
