Have you been considering attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting? Today Dan talks about how AA functions and what happens at both open AA meetings and closed AA meetings.
Today Dan's talks are about appreciating the good and bad things in your life as well as a discussion about the AA slogan, There but for the grace of God I go.
Two topics today: If you hang around a barber shop long enough, sooner or later you're going to get your hair cut. Dan talks about that analogy for staying out of bars. He also discusses the Serenity Prayer, another method for keeping life simple and staying out of trouble.
Dan gives his take on two of Alcoholics Anonymous' most familiar mantras, "easy does it" and "live and let live." He talks about tolerance for your own imperfections and weaknesses as well as those of others and urges us to go easy on ourselves.
Dan's talk today is about the daily tribulations that trigger our urge to drink and break our sobriety and ways to deal with those temptations when they happen.
In today's episode Dan shares the history of his struggle with alcoholism from an early age until his first day of sobriety at the age of 27. Dan has been sober for 16 years now.
