Today’s For Faith & Family Weekend marks the final edition of the program. Please read a note from the producer and host of the program below: I cannot express how blessed I have been these last 13 months while For Faith and Family Weekend has been on the air. God has given me so much more than I could have ever hoped for in my first year at the ERLC and For Faith & Family Radio. I hope you will listen to my sign off in the final segment where I thank some of the people who have been instrumental in sharing God’s love and truth through this show, but I also wanted to list them here. Last year Chuck Colson passed away at the age of 80, and For Faith & Family would like to recognize the impact God made through his life.  After spending time in prison himself, Chuck founded Prison Fellowship and spent the last few decades sharing how Christ transformed his life.  He joined us a few years ago to share how God can use you as well.

The Bible tells us to “take pleasure in the wife of your youth” (Proverb 5:18). Don’t you find it astonishing that God had to provide this guidance nearly 3,000 years ago? You know what it tells me? It tells me that marriage has always had its challenges. The calendar changes but human nature not so much. Nearly 50% of all marriages in our country end in divorce and the statistics are not much different between evangelicals and those who profess no faith.

Annie Chapman joins us today to talk about the fragile relationship that exists between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law. Annie is the author of The Mother-in Law Dance: Can Two Women Love the Same Man and Get Along?.

Barrett Jones, an offensive lineman for the St. Louis Rams, talks about his faith and being a role model to others. “My faith is the most important thing to me, it’s not just an important thing to me on a list of things. … I feel like [God’s] called me to go and to tell people about Him, so that’s my main job.”

The follow segment contains mature themes and may not be suitable for children. Daniel Walker, a police detective from New Zealand, shares stories of his time as an undercover agent going into some of the darkest places on earth to rescue victims of human trafficking. Daniel is the author of God in a Brothel: An Undercover Journey into Sex Trafficking and Rescue.

Amy Simpson shares her story of caring for her mother through mental illness. She also discusses ways the community can help those dealing with mental illnesses. Amy is the editor of GiftedForLeadership.com and marriage & parenting resources for Today’s Christian Woman.

“Poppy grew up there and in Sri Lanka, Singapore and Kenya. She met her American husband in Nairobi and they soon moved to the United States. The adjustment to her new marriage and new country, combined with loneliness and the loss of all that was familiar, brought Poppy to a defining moment with God.”

John MacArthur joins Dr. Richard Land to discusses the importance of prayer. John is the pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, Calif., as well as an author, speaker, president of The Master’s College and Seminary.

It’s a good thing if we’re tolerant of people that are different from us, right? Not quite actually. Mike Glenn, senior pastor of Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, Tenn., is here to explain. He is also the author of The Gospel of Yes and In Real Time.

Michael Catt shares how transformation begins with repentence and not just confession or remorse. Michael is the senior pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church and executive producer of Facing the Giants and Fireproof.

Art Rainer discusses the importacnce of support and encouragement within the family. Art is the author of Raising Dad: What Fathers & Sons Learn from Each Other. “Raising Dad shares unforgettable lessons about faith, friendship, commitment, honesty.”

Lara Izokaitis urges women to pursue their God-given dreams. She has a passion transformation and helping women become who God created them to be. “Because just like a caterpillar turned butterfly (Caterfly), my life has been radically transformed by the love of Jesus Christ that I just can’t help but want to share with others the hope of having this same freedom.”
