Summary: Join comic book fans Jen Stansfield-Marek and Shawn Marek each week for WORST COLLECTION EVER. It's a comedy show where Jen and Shawn poke fun at their own collection of random comic books, most of which that they bought for a dollar or less. King In Black: Thunderbolts #1 (2021) Look at us….covering a comic in the current decade! The world - and specifically New York City - is covered in alien goo so Mayor Kingpin is like “I’ll do a Suicide Squad thing but even more corrupt.” So he grabs Taskmaster, Mister Fear and a few other jabronis and has them go find Norman Osborn and his weird hair to help them. Secret Origins [vol 2] #21 (1987) Two stories in one today as we first explore the origin of infamous cowboy corpse, Jonah Hex. Twisted curio collector Ian McKellan and hired goon Donal Logue are here to shake down Jonah’s elderly wife for rights to his stuffed corpse but ’92 Jeff Goldblum is here to save the day. Then later, we learn about the original Black Condor. Starting out as an obese baby, Condor became irradiated by a meteor and learned to fly, going around fighting eagles and stuff. He makes his way to America where he assumes a senator’s identity despite only meeting, like, one other non-bird human in his entire life. Jack Kirby’s Secret City Saga #2 (1993) From the mind of a comic book legend comes the Secret City, a lost civilization from 15000 years ago that was buried under Chicago. Upon their re-emergence, the more nefarious citizens kidnap Bill Clinton and and have him replaced with a sarcastic shapeshifter. It’s up to the good guys — a Captain America wannabe, a woman with osteoporosis, a dude who hurls guns and a kid hellbent on vehicular homicide — to save the day. The Book of Fate #12 (1998) Its Jared Stevens’s last issue as he turfs yet another Doctor Fate spin-off series. To celebrate and commiserate, Jared and Lobo hop around the galaxy getting drunk. They eventually end up in Guy Gardner’s bar where Jared jobs hard. Also, Alan Scott is out here being aggro! Sensational She-Hulk #26 (1991) She-Hulk is hired to defend Excalibur's Meggan when Meggan turns into a trash monster and runs amok in a Nando’s. The caveat here is now is that CAPTAIN BRITAIN has now been possessed by trash to the point where he’s just sitting around eating it. Like used wrappers and apple cores and all that. She-Hulk resorts to her feminine wiles and remarkably average-sized feet to save the day. DC Comics Presents #43 (1982) Superman is harassed by his co-workers because he opts to have a wistful stare out of a window rather than talk to that yutz Jimmy Olson. He thinks he sees a Sun Eater and he’s correct but gets ambushed by Mongul. Mongul traps Clark in a glass case of emotion so its up to the Legion of Super-Heroes to figure it all out. Cosmic Boy shows up wearing his black Emma Frost corset costume and all is right in the world. Secret Defenders #15 (1994) Doctor Strange is stuck in a sanctum beneath the earth’s core and he has no facial hair so he is not equipped to handle his usual Secret Defenders duties. He calls upon general scumbag hero Doctor Druid and his immense Rogaine top-knot to defend the earth against Malachi, the villainess with Wolverine hair and giant hoop earrings. Joining the team is Chicago art museum security guard for hire Luke Cage and Kathy Ireland paramour Deadpool. All the painting and sculptures start coming alive so the situation gets wacky real fast. Metamorpho: Year One #4 (2008) We join Rex Mason in his first year as Metamorpho, a being with one leg made of pudding and another made of Miracle Whip. He’s tired of being forced to live in seclusion due to his lack of noise so Simon Stagg gives him a life-like mask and an opportunity to have sex with his daughter. All of this goes sideways and Rex ends up fighting Doc Dread, an opportunistic villain with buxom helicopter pilots and a knack for capitalizing on world disasters. Vision and the Scarlet Witch #1 (1982) WANDAVISION is upon us so let's take a look at the WrestleMania of Vision/Scarlet Witch stories. Here, Viz and Wanda move to Jersey on Halloween and Vision’s out there sticking his hands in all the kids' bags and what not. They try to copulate but Jarvis cuts them off. Then Samhain (the goat man, not Danzig and friends) shows up to possess teenager extras from HALLOWEEN III and cause some havoc. All this because Captain America decided to cheap out on a housewarming gift. Batman / Catwoman #1 (2020) We start the new year off with the good stuff as we explore the Black Label version of Batman and Catwoman. Tom King’s story structure tends to confuse us so expect a lot of us parsing out what the hell is happening chronologically. Mephisto Vs. #1 (1987) Marvel’s Satan tries his hand at nabbing the souls of all the virtuous superhero women and actually finds it to be quite easy. All he has to do is get Ben Grimm fired up about tooth decay, have the Human Torch fight John McEnroe and possess She-Hulk to throw Franklin Richards into the gaping maw of Hell. The Question #21 (1988) The Question aka Vic Sage hits up his high school reunion only to find out that no one likes him and never did like him. One smashed locker and one weird story about fruit later, Vic finds himself in the midst of a hospital hostage stand-off where the Unknown Soldier demands a heart transplant by gunpoint. Pitt #6 (1994) Pitt was a joint from the 90s back when no one had a nose. Its about an alien whose race did a reverse Thanos and grabbed some DNA to merge a boy with a space Hulk. In this issue, space Hulk ruins the NYC sewer infrastructure via his careless burrowing. Also, Blade’s brother makes an appearance and an elderly man is brutally sedated. There’s also giant grey dudes fighting giant green dudes because its Image in the 90s.
