Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed is one of the best quran reciters in Maldives. He first started his journey in Quran recitation from a Qari class in GA. Maamendhoo. After that, from Al Madrasatul Arabiyatul Islamiya and Mawhad Al Dirasatil Islamiya. Dr. Shaheem memorized the Quran from Pakistan’s Al Ashrafiya University. He learnt Arabic language from Imam Abu Hanifa Higher Institute For Teachers, and got his diploma in Islamic Shariah from Egypt in 1998. Dr. Shaheem studied in Madinat Al Munawwarah Islamic University, and he filled the Imam post of the Univeristy’s mosque, Masjid Al Shaikh Ibn Baaz. Dr. Shaheem was the Imam of Masjid Al Sultan Hassan Izzaddin of Maldives in 2005, and he was teaching Quran in Al Madrasatul Arabiyatul Islamiya as well. He also was the supervisor of the Center for Holy Quran of the Maldives, and continued being the Imam of the Tahajud prayers during Ramadan at Masjid Al Sultan Mohamed Takrufanul Auzam, the biggest mosque in the country. Dr. Shaheem has represented Maldives in many international Quran competitions, like the King Abdul Aziz International Quran competition in 1999, Makkah, and in the International Quran competition in Libya in the year 2005. Dr. Shaheem completed his Masters degree in Islamic Shariah (Fiqh – Usoolul Fiqh), and received his PhD from the same field, from the International Islamic University, Malaysia. He was appointed the State Minister of Islamic Affairs of Maldives and was the Minister of Islamic Affairs for two consecutive governments of the country. He also was the Dean of Shariah at Villa College. Currently, Dr. Shaheem is the Vice Chancellor of Maldives Islamic University. This CD is produced due to a number of requests from a lot of people who wish listen to the Quran recited by Dr. Shaheem’s beautiful voice. Since then he has sought knowledge and studied under Shaykh Salah As Sawy, Dr. Hatem Al Haj, his father in law Shaykh Abul Abed, and Al Allamah Shaykh Omar Al Ashqar (rahimahullah).<br> <br> Shaykh Omar Suleiman has two Bachelor's degrees in Islamic Studies and in Accounting, a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Islamic Studies from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.<br> <br> He previously served as Imam for Masjid Abu Bakr As-Siddique in New Orleans for 6 years and has since dedicated himself to fulltime teaching. He has taught with Mishkah University (formerly Sharia Academy) since 2008 under Shaykh Salah As Sawy and also currently serves as the Director of the Islamic Learning Foundation in Texas, as well as being the resident scholar at Valley Ranch Islamic Centre.<br> <br> Shaykh Omar Suleiman is also a strong advocate of community service, interfaith dialogue, and social justice. He served as the field coordinator of ICNA Relief in Hurricane Katrina and also co-founded the East Jefferson Clergy Interfaith Council. In 2010, the Mayor and City Council of New Orleans awarded him for 'Outstanding Civic Achievement'. He is a current member of the ICNA Shariah Council.

Hamza Yusuf is a cofounder of Zaytuna College, located in Berkeley, California. He is an advisor to Stanford University’s Program in Islamic Studies and the Center for Islamic Studies at Berkeley’s Graduate Theological Union. He also serves as vice-president for the Global Center for Guidance and Renewal, which was founded and is currently presided over by Shaykh Abdallah bin Bayyah, one of the top jurists and masters of Islamic sciences in the world. Recently, Hamza Yusuf was ranked as “the Western world’s most influential Islamic scholar” by The 500 Most Influential Muslims. Hamza Yusuf has also authored several encyclopedia articles and research papers. His published books include The Burda (2003), Purification of the Heart (2004), The Content of Character (2004), The Creed of Imam al-Tahawi (2007), Agenda to Change our Condition (2007), Walk on Water (2010), and The Prayer of the Oppressed (2010).<br> <br> Shaykh Hamza was born in Washington State and raised in Northern California. In 1977, he became Muslim and subsequently traveled to the Muslim world and studied for ten years in the U. A. E., Saudi Arabia, as well as North and West Africa. He received teaching licenses in various Islamic subjects from several well-known scholars in various countries. After ten years of studies abroad, he returned to the USA and earned degrees in Religious Studies and Health Care. He has traveled all over the world giving talks on Islam. He also founded Zaytuna Institute which has established an international reputation for presenting a classical picture of Islam in the West and which is dedicated to the revival of traditional study methods and the sciences of Islam. Shaykh Hamza is the first American lecturer to teach in Morocco's prestigious and oldest University, the Qarawiyin in Fes. In addition, he has translated into modern English several classical Arabic traditional texts and poems. Shaykh Hamza currently resides in Northern California with his wife and five children.
