Jonathan Lethem is the author of seven novels, including Motherless Brooklyn , which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction in 1999, and The Fortress of Solitude ; a story collection, Men and Cartoons ; and a collection of essays, The Disappointment Artist , parts of which first appeared in The New Yorker . His novel You Don't Love Me Yet came out in March 2007; his most recent New Yorker story, "Lucky Alan", appeared in the March 19th issue.
