Techcrunch is reporting that rumors about Google acquiring Feedburner are accurate and are now confirmed according to a source close to the deal. Feedburner is in the closing stages of being acquired by Google for around $100 million.

If the deal goes through, it will be another great buy for Google. Feedburner has a very high market share of feeds and has a unique position with the amount of information it has about RSS feed statistics.

It will be interesting to see if there is much if any user reaction to Google entering this market and gathering an even more dominant position on the internet.
