Eyespot is a great new site for editing and making your video podcast. Registration is free and there is a good amount of creative commons content available for remixing. It is also a great way to make music videos from your digital photo album.

Once you login to the site, you are taken to your library of clips, mixes, images and music. If you don’t have any, you can browse the site and sign up for groups, like Magnatune or INGroove. There are even groups for specific bands. By joining these groups you get access to their content and can remix it as you like.

Select mix for a clip and that takes you to the video editor. There you can drag and drop clips into any sequence you like and mix in effects like fade in/out or color overlays to the images etc.

Once you have you clips in place you can add a music track as an overlay for the entire mix.

To make bigger productions, you can make a mix and then use it in another mix.

When you’re done mixing you can publish it at Eyespot, get code to embed it into your blog or you can download it in Mac, PC, iPod, or PSP format. I have enclosed a ipod version of a clip I made so you can test it on your ipod.

Eyespot plans to make money selling the technology to media companies as an application service provider. A good target for them will be bands and record companies that want to allow their communities to remix content for them.

I think this would be a great way for media companies to make more money off their back catalogues. Just let your users remix your content and then release best of remix albums. Easy way to make some great content and some money.
