Dave Winer has  announced that he is launching a  new directory initiative for the podcasting community.  It looks like he will be using the opml format to make  and manage the directory.  I think that this is great news and will fit very well with the  Open Podcast Directory Initiative which is being designed with the ability for any  one to put up their own directory and load it with podcasts from opml lists like  Dave’s directory.   Our design concept is like a peer to peer network of directories where vertical communities can build an really  help users navigate to podcasts that they like.  At each  implementation of the open podcast directory users can make and manage their own  OPML lists.

This is going to be fun.  Digital Podcast’s complete OPML file is available to help start the community effort if there is a way to submit the file to Dave’s new directory
