Yet another podcast directory has appeared on the scene.  This one, dressed in black like Steve Jobs, is called Pluggd

I took a look and it looks nice, very web 2.0ish.  It’s built using Ruby on Rails and is quite similar in terms of functionality to the open source application that I’m  building with the guy who did JPodder

Although, I’m not sure what their differentiation is other than dressing in all black to look like SongBird

I am surprised to see that they don’t use the podcast images though. It would make sense if they were going after the low bandwidth segment, but how does that work for audio and video?

Well, I guess we will have to see how it plays when there’s an open source version in the market.  BTW, I could use a great designer to help us make a killer UI for the open source app so if anyone is interested please join us.
