Odeo has released an upgrade today supporting ability to record audio with the browser-based Odeo Studio - or via the phone. The site now also features an “audio inbox.”

I tested the service. It was pretty easy to use the browser based system, but using a logitech gamer mic the audio leaves something to be desired even with the mic level set to full volume.

The phone based service seems like a great idea, truly mobile podcasting. I tried to make it work, but they seem to be having a few start-up problems so I couldn’t really test it fully.
