Featured Podcast Studio - Grape Radio

Brian from GrapeRadio told Digital Podcast about their new podcast studio. It looks fantastic.
The guys from GrapeRadio went all out in putting together this studio. They spent a little over $20,000 building the studio which has an Edirol R-4, Mackie Onyx 1620 16-Channel Mixer, 4 RE20 mics, dbx gates, telos 2 line telephone call in and all the other bells and whistles.
WOW! No wonder they produce such a great show.

Edirol R4 Portable Recorder and Wave Editor - $1,595

Mackie Onyx 1620 16-Channel Mixer - $780
GrapeRadio produces one or two shows weekly. Each shows consist of the three hosts sharing their opinions and experiences with the audience. Shows topics review issues such as the enjoyment of wine, wine news and industry trends. The hallmark of the show are guest interviews with winemaker, vineyard owners, wine retail / wholesale leaders, restaurateurs and sommeliers. The scope of the show is international so expect to hear many guests from around the world.

GrapeRadio even has a business model. Brian tells us that they have been charging for advertising over the last 4 months and have been very successful with 8 different sponsors in that time frame. Seven of the past sponsors are inquiring about additional spots.
GrapeRadio charges $1,000 (soon to be raised to $1,500) to sponsor each show and are sold out until Nov 14, 2005.
They are also exploring several other sources of revenue generation such as selling adverting in an upcoming newsletter and opening an online store selling wine and related products.
