Summary: Dr. Erin Wilkinson is a Marketing professor, small business advocate, writer, and wishful femme fatale. She recently went to Africa for six months on a Fulbright teaching and research scholarship focusing on small business development. Sustainability, eco-friendly, and hand-made products with ties to the sea were the types of micro-enterprises she worked with on Zanzibar and coastal Tanzania. There, different village communities needed help with product development, package design, and marketing. She will share her adventure and what she learned about Swahili culture and how we can learn from that as entrepreneurs.
