Mission Unstoppable show

Summary: This week on Mission Unstoppable Radio, The Unstoppable Frankie Picasso is joined by her dear friend Life Coach, Social Justice Advocate and Philanthropist in training, Lisa Scott. Lisa is married to a 5th generation Black Canadian (Dennis Scott) who is a direct decendent of slaves who escaped through the Underground Railroad to freedom in the Owen Sound area. They have five children together and work side by side both in their consulting practice and in their involvement as organizers of the Emancipation Celebration Festival. The festival will celebrate 147 years this year of continuous freedom celebrations. It is the longest running celebration of its kind in North America. It has a long rich history that began with the original runaway slaves celebrating their new freedom and community in Owen Sound. The festival has evolved from a one day picnic on the first Saturday in August to a three day festival that honours “Community, Roots, and culture” through celebrating the arts, music and history. Call in and tell us your history.Did your family find freedom on the UGRR? Did your family help slaves who tried to escape? What does it mean to YOU and Your children today?
