DoD may be holding itself up on implementing AI, report says

Summary: It seems like everyone in the military is talking about artificial intelligence. The Defense Department has been backing its interest in AI with substantial money. Now the RAND Corporation says the department has yet to provide its Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) with the visibility, authorities and resources it actually needs to ramp up AI across the department. JAIC is supposed to be the epicenter of DoD’s AI strategy.
