Steelers Podcast - The Terrible Podcast show

Summary: 8/13/19

Season 10, Episode 6 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Tuesday show that was recorded Monday night, Alex Kozora and I get right to the sudden passing Sunday morning of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers coach Darryl Drake. It’s a tough subject to talk about so Alex and I do our best to pay proper respect to Drake and what he meant to not only the Steelers, but others around the football community. We also delicately address what the Steelers might try to do when it comes to filling the void that Drake’s sudden passing has created.

Alex and I move on to discuss some more of our thoughts on the Steelers Friday night preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We attempt to discuss the play of a few other players we didn’t deeply address during the Saturday show after going through the game tape a few more times. This includes talk about outside linebacker Tuzar Skipper, inside linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III and a few other players.

We spend a lot of time going over the quarterback play from Friday’s game and that includes discussing the possibility of the team keeping quarterback Devlin Hodges over Joshua Dobbs.

My latest Steelers 53-man roster prediction was posted on Sunday and Alex’s will be posted Tuesday morning. We go over the few changes I made in mine and why I made them and Alex drops a few hints in regard to what his new roster prediction might look like.

Alex and I have another long talk about the back of the Steelers wide receiver depth chart and if indeed Ryan Switzer and Eli Rogers are both locks to make the 53-man roster at this point.

We move on to discuss the Friday night performances of all the Steelers second-year players along with the play of several of the rookie draft picks such as inside linebacker Devin Bush and defensive end Isaiah Buggs.

As usual, Alex and I answer a few email questions that we received from listeners since our last show posted to close out this episode.

As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.

Thanks for listening and don’t forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!
