Time is static and you can’t control a measurement. Until you have mastered time management, you must continue learning and applying best practices. — Research from Fast Company Magazines says “The Highest performing 10% of workers didn’t work full 8 hour days, and they took 17 minutes for every 52 minutes of focused work.” There is a major difference between time blocking and blocking time. Time blocking can be frustrating at a basic level because it doesn’t address the root issue. — The root issue is, what is getting in your way from what you have time blocked? Time blocking allows you to physically block interrupters. If you don’t “block” your time, you’ll focus on the interrupters. — Multi-tasking cannot be done. The brain can only think about one thing at a time. — The Cone of Silence doesn’t allow anything to interrupt a block of time ordained for one or two tasks. Referring back to the Fast Company research, the 52 minutes can be focused on what is time blocked, and the 17 minutes in-between can be used to handle interrupters. We have to pay attention to the interrupters because they are the dominators. If you don’t identify and figure out how to handle the interrupters, time blocking will never work. — Prioritization is the key to improving your end result and maximizing every minute of your time. “You can either prioritize your schedule or you can schedule your priorities.” - Stephen Covey Prioritization is the most important factor when it comes to productivity. We must prioritize the essentials. The longer a priority is ignored, the more it will become a priority. — The top 10% focus on mastery first, and consistency second. Mastery yields confidence and efficiency. If you can confidently do something efficiently, then you get the power to be consistent, which produces what you want quicker. — To manage your time efficiently you must be a blocker of interruptions, make prioritization a daily discipline, and master your skill to become confident and efficient. --- Learn more about Todd Duncan: http://toddduncan.com Learn more about the High Trust Company: http://hightrust.com --- Download Todd's FREE High Trust Business Builder Kit: http://bit.ly/2DuoqKJ Sign up for High Trust Coaching: http://hightrustcoaching.com/ Attend Todd Duncan Events: http://hightrust.com/about-us/live-events/ Sign up for Todd's Newsletter: http://toddduncan.com/subscribe --- Connect with Todd on Social Media: Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/ToddDuncanOfficial/ Twitter - http://twitter.com/toddstweets Instagram - http://instagram.com/toddduncanofficial Linkedin - https://www.linkedin.com/in/toddduncanoffical
