Summary: Maldives to set up the First Islamic Bank: The (IBFIM) Islamic banking and finance institute of Malaysia joined hands with the Islamic bank of Maldives for the establishment of the first ever Islamic bank in the country. The aims for to getting this bank under operation are by next year in January. A memorandum of agreement was signed between the both parties at the Global Islamic Finance Forum.
