Summary: Welcome to the new, relaunched, Bearded Gentlemen Music podcast… now called “The 1st of the Month Music Podcast”. The new format will be Jon and I looking over what happened in the prior month and basically talking about things we like and didn’t like. You can look for the pod to drop on the first of every month, unless if the first is on a weekend I guess. If it’s on a weekend it will either come out on the Monday after or the Friday before.<br> Or maybe both. Or maybe neither. Who’s to say, really? Another month, another podcast… am I right, guys?!?!?!?!<br> It’s now the beginning of January (not January 1, but close enough) and it’s time for a big 2017 wrap up spectacular.<br> It really started with a lot of non-music talk… things like haircuts and Costco… you know stuff that normal music podcasts talk about all the time. But when we started talking music, we were rolling.<br> <a href="https://beardedgentlemenmusic.com/2017/12/29/best-albums-2017-part-3/">The conversation really centered around Bearded Gentlemen Music’s year end list</a> – a list that Jon has totally lost control of and the outcomes were not very good. We agree with some of the outcomes (King Krule, Anacondas, <a href="https://beardedgentlemenmusic.com/2017/04/17/kendrick-lamar-is-a-prophet-of-hip-hop/">Kendrick Lamar</a>), but others, IN OUR OPINIONS, are shit garbage (<a href="https://beardedgentlemenmusic.com/2017/09/07/the-national-sleep-well-beast-review/">The National</a> and <a href="https://beardedgentlemenmusic.com/2017/07/31/lorde-melodrama-review/">Lorde</a>). I mean making these lists has to be hard, but we also discuss ways to change the system for cooler results.<br> Lastly, of course we talked about the Foo Fighters.<br> Jon went and saw a Foo Fighters show, so I guess that’s pretty cool (?) and we discussed their appearance on SNL. Believe it or not, we weren’t fans.
