FBI headquarters plan gets no new funding in omnibus spending bill

Summary: Nearly halfway through the fiscal year, Congress has passed a $1.3 trillion spending bill that will fund the federal government for the rest of 2018. But just as important as what is in the bill is what is not in it. The omnibus bill offers no funding for a new FBI headquarters and spares most agencies cutbacks proposed by the Trump administration.
