Celebrity Insider Shares Open Secret of Hollywood Hypocrisy in Wake of Harvey Weinstein Scandal

Government Gone Wild Podcast show

Summary: Welcome back to the podcast! This is the kickoff to Season 2. It’s been a few weeks… a few months… since we’ve published an episode. That’s because I’ve been heads down finishing the final manuscript for my next book, which hits bookstores early next year. I can’t wait to tell you more about it! But I have to. Stay tuned… So, today’s episode tackles an incredible story that keeps unfolding. And that story is Harvey Weinstein being accused by some of the top actresses in the world (think Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rose McGowan, etc.) for making unwanted sexual advances, sexual assault and even rape. The predatory behavior from producers and casting directors in Hollywood is finally getting the spotlight thanks to the Weinstein scandal. Unfortunately it’s not a new story. It’s an open secret in Hollywood that isn’t so secret anymore. New accusations of sexual harassment, assault and even rape that have happened repeatedly over decades are opening up a larger discussion about the horrific behavior in Hollywood. Our guest today, Liam McNeill, is an actor based in Los Angeles who has starred in commercials and movies. He’s a conservative in Hollywood and has observed the reaction to the Weinstein scandal. He verifies that colleagues have confided in him stories of sexual harassment or worse. And it’s not just the women in Hollywood. Both male and female actors, even child actors, have been propositioned to do things they don’t want to do by people in powerful positions. Yet the issue just gets swept under the rug. Why is it that when a scandal like this happens, the leftist Hollywood elite stay silent? We would expect them to be shouting from the rooftops about this, but instead we hear nothing. Or we hear celebrities blame the women who are coming forward against Weinstein for what happened to them. Actors and actresses love to lecture us about who we should vote for, how we should act, positioning themselves as the moral standard for Americans. Yet these same actors are getting away with or actively turning a blind eye to rape and sexual assault in Hollywood. How can a conservative survive in Hollywood? And how do we expose this larger issue of sexual abuse and violence against young actors, including children? Listen to this interview and let us know what you think by leaving us a review on iTunes.
