Can Social Justice Warriors Please Not Ruin Halloween? - GGW S2 E8 with Matt Palumbo

Government Gone Wild Podcast show

Summary: Fall is my favorite season, and Halloween is a celebration near and dear to me. I loved dressing up as a gunshot wound victim as a kid, scaring my friends who would wear princess outfits or something sweet. Pretty messed up, I know. But it was a way of showing my creativity… Halloween is celebrated as a holiday for letting go of the stress from school and have some laughs. But if you have kids today who are either at the grade school level or even all the way up at the college level, you’ve probably noticed that Halloween is becoming increasingly policed. Nearly every Halloween costume these days is deemed offensive. Social justice warriors have waged a full on war on Halloween. That’s why I needed to bring my friend and fellow millennial Matthew Palumbo on the show. Matt is the author of several books, including “Conscience of a Young Conservative.” His new book “A Paradoxical Alliance” is about the relationship between the left and Islam. He’s also a commentator and columnist. We talk about how the left only picks certain people to protect, and how they lose it when they see something they deem as cultural appropriation. We talk about the liberal bias in the education system. We talk about the squashing of free speech and how quickly the left is willing to do that. This is an episode you won’t want to miss.
