Ep. 8 - S.H. Fernando Jr (aka Spectre)

The House List Podcast show

Summary: Ep. 8 - S.H. Fernando Jr - As a special Thanksgiving weekend double-episode, we sat with Skiz, the multi-talented Harvard grad, writer/author, film-maker, producer and now chef, for a flavor-packed chat about his life and career. As the founder of WordSound Records, a label known for it's deep, dense dub/hip-hop releases, he's also been produced original music under the name Spectre since 1995. As a college-radio DJ while attending Harvard, Skiz met the founders of rap-tome The Source and shortly thereafter began a long journey into music writing - known globally for his amazing book 'The New Beats'(published in '94), Fernando quickly became one of Rap's earliest published authors. We reflect fondly about both of us working on the VH1 reality show, ego trip's 'The White Rapper Show'... Skiz also brought Anthony Bourdain to Sri Lanka for a taping of his show 'No Reservations', which we get the scoop on. Enjoy all this and more on 'The House List'!
