This is going to be a review of the electrocardiogram, the ECG. I'll be reviewing some of the basic things that you can do to review. Some things to keep in mind when you're looking at ECGs. You know ER nurses and ICU nurses stare EKGs all day long. I fear nurses in another area, working perhaps in home care or other places, may not get a chance to look at ECGs and practice that skill. I'm a paramedic as well as a nurse and I look at ECGs all the time and it is something you need to practice. If you don't practice your ECG reading, you can get rusty pretty quickly so do a good review every now and then. It is always important. Hopefully that's what I'll be able to provide here for you on the Nursing Show.
