Summary: Recently, the senate made history by passing bipartisan immigration reform legislation. While it’s not perfect, the bill is a good start that can move us from our current situation. And we all know that the current situation is untenable. It’s not good for our nation. Holding human beings in a permanent state of legal limbo denies them dignity and deprives our nation of their full contribution to our economy and communities. We need to know who is here, and we need to better control who comes and stays.
