The Fat around Your Stomach Now, people often complain that they’re storing fat around their stomach, but they don’t differentiate between the two types of fat. One is stored around your bellybutton and the other is on your hips. Both are caused by different reasons. Producing Too Much Cortisol   Of Cortisol, Stress and Storing Fat around Your Bellybutton Now, a lot of men store fat around their bellybutton, and in fact, women, due to the fact that they are producing too much Cortisol, and that’s caused by too much stress. So when you’re under a lot of stress, you produce the hormone “Cortisol,” and this can result in you storing fat around your bellybutton. Cut Down on Carbohydrates to Trim Down Your Hips Another part of your waist where you store fat is your hips. This is caused by eating too many processed carbohydrates. So, a lot of those types of carbohydrates are the white carbohydrates such as white pasta and white bread, and simply by reducing these, you can actually reduce the fat on your hips.
