Mind, Body and Soul Show show

Summary: What wedding gift do you give the quintessential couple who have everything? … Why, his and her matching elephants, of course. Jerry and Donna Goven know how to have fun, and when their friends who “have everything” got married, they had to think of a unique and outrageous gift. Even though the elephants were only rentals, the memory and fun will last forever. Donna and Jerry met during a meeting of the Inner Peace Movement in 1997.From the beginning they began working together. They taught classes about guardian angels back then, and since they have grown, but still spend time helping others find balance while learning how to have fun, such as making lemonade from lemons. Jerry and Donna offer workshops that help people remove roadblocks, and they have written a book, “Take the E out of Ego and Go.” They live by two mottos: “If you’re not having fun, then change what you’re doing,” and “Business is having fun while making money.” Donna and Jerry’s workshops offer tools that show people how to remove roadblocks that hinder success whether they be on an emotional or physical level by helping them find balance between health and emotions. The roadblock that hinders people is always the same, but can show in different ways. It is fear. Fear is a saboteur. Jerry tells a poem about how we sabotage ourselves by repeating behaviors that aren‘t working: I walked down the road and fell in a hole. I walked down the road and fell in a hole. I walked down the road and fell in a hole I walked down the road and went around the hole. We keep doing the same thing to sabotage ourselves and then we use the tools that Jerry and Donna teach to make lemonade from our lemons. We are taught and we can learn to step around the hole, which means resolving the problem, and its important to learn how to have fun while we do it. Most people have to learn how to get past their ego. Responding to the world from the ego makes life difficult and communication even harder. Jerry and Donna teach how to give and receive respect through effective communication. For example, instead of saying, “you did this wrong,” speak calmly, quietly and say, “I prefer it if you do it this way.” Ego makes people feel like they have to be perfect, but that’s not possible. So, just like the title of their book, “Take the E out of Ego and Go,” learn how to have fun while making lemonade from the lemons. Or give someone an elephant. Everybody laugh!
