1000 Artist Journal Pages

I'm in this book!

Thanks to Guylaine, my work is part of the wonderful book 1000 Artist Journal Pages!

I'm in this book!

The book is filled with inspiration from creatives using visual journaling as a practice. I felt deeply touch by all the emotions which are translated through the book… Vibrant of colors, 1000 Artist Journal Pages offers a view from different people’s expressions of life, its challenges, insecurities, hopes and wonders. A gift for the eyes, and for the soul!

We, searchers

“I am one of the searchers. There are, I believe, millions of us. We are not unhappy, but neither are we really content. We continue to explore life, hoping to uncover its ultimate secret. We continue to explore ourselves, hoping to understand. We like to walk along the beach, we are drawn by the ocean, taken by its power, its unceasing motion, its mystery and unspeakable beauty. We like forests and mountains, deserts and hidden rivers, and the lonely cities as well. Our sadness is as much a part of our lives as is our laughter. To share our sadness with one we love is perhaps as great a joy as we can know - unless it be to share our laughter.

We searchers are ambitious only for life itself, for everything beautiful it can provide. Most of all we love and want to be loved. We want to live in a relationship that will not impede our wandering, nor prevent our search, nor lock us in prison walls; that will take us for what little we have to give. We do not want to prove ourselves to another or compete for love.
For wanderers, dreamers, and lovers, for lonely men and women who dare to ask of life everything good and beautiful. It is for those who are too gentle to live among wolves.”

~James Kavanaugh

I feel like one peaceful soul, connected to many others, trying to reach through a light fog. We’re all there, silent but there. Via.

Safari moments

Who i really am
me, pacific ocean, costa rica.

There would be so much to write from this last trip, how could i translate all this beauty i’ve seen.

One thing is for sure, traveling is what makes me feel most alive. I’ve seen so much beauty, met many people, visited lost corners of the world and all of me wants more.

It is now clearer, my life should be filled with safari moments. I loved the monkeys, macaws, toucan and other species who shared their space with us for 2 weeks.

And i cant complain that it’s already over - i’ve been there for every minute, me in the now at all time, enjoying all parts of our adventure: the lost luggages, the constant moving from a to b, the pouring of rain over us every day, the sickness, the unknown and so on.

I am filled with a need to see more. Filled with the need to be more of who i really am.

Wondering, who’s agenda is that on my table? Who’s house is that? As if, i know too well that i have changed, and my outside world will soon follow.

Table ronde et atelier thématique

Jungle goodbye

Beach

Leaving with the wind and the sun,
ready to visit new parts of my beloved earth,
greeting the monkeys, the birds, croco & other inhabitants of the jungle,
leaving to find a place of adventure, love and excitement for my heart.

Leaving so that i can be in the place where i most feel alive,
where everything is new to my eyes,
a new breeze on my skin, new sounds to my ears.

Leaving for many new mornings with nothing familiar around,
the new, the unknown,
sparkling jewels to be found everywhere in and outside,
feeling at my most alive and safe, in completely unknown territories,
nothing else than me, my love, and our sense of adventure.

Dealing with ideas

Overwhelmed with ideas, me and chris often struggle with this topic. So much could be done, only, we are only 2 heads, and 4 hands.

Which idea is good to keep, which ones are not? A pretty good conversation topic, if you feel like sharing a coffee with a stranger. I’m sure everyone has something to say on the subject.

Some interesting tips are give over here (link found via guylaine) :

1. Creative destruction. Create a weekly or monthly ritual to critically examine your pipeline. Prioritize your ideas and kill the ones that haven’t been actionable in the past year, are low on the priority scale (…)

2. Donate your ideas. Give them away for free. License them to your competitor (sounds frightening, but you might as well benefit and develop relationships in the process). If you have no intention of using your ideas, allow others to make them happen for the greater good.

3. Generate Ideas in Moderation. Our judgment is impaired when we get intoxicated. When rampant, new ideas will get you off track. So, drink in moderation and strive to make ideas happen, rather than generate more ideas.

4. Focus on Results, Not Time. Achievement should be measured by output, not by the amount of time spent on a project.

My way of dealing with ideas has changed a lot over the lasts weeks. I chose to dedicate myself only to the essential stuff : what brings me joy and a feeling of aliveness now, what sounds like music to my heart.

Otherwise, i throw out any idea which i suspect i might want to see happen only to feed my ego, in a reaction to fear, or to please others.

All the ideas i put my energy into must feed myself, and my vision. I realized lately that i can carefully choose the elements in want to play with in my life, the ideas i want to play with in my head - and the word play says it all.

Smile

Summer, holidays,
taking time to smile, to swim, to read, to enjoy life.
This time is all yours, all mine -

I take this moment to say hi, there’s a lot going on, but nothing i feel like to write about here, so i’ll keep things for myself, and enjoy some weeks without sharing with you, dear www audience.

There are times to talk,
to be wild and loud,
to share joys, moments, pictures, and questions -

and there are times just to be,
silent,
recluse,
an observer,
walking the path a little higher to view the ordinary with new eyes.
