Latest Mobile Windows News: Weekly audio: Windows Mobile podcasts from last week (November 24 - December 1, 2008) December 01, 2008; [General] Last week there was Thanksgiving holiday and Black Friday shopping day in USA, and since most podcasters are U.S. Americans, the number of podcasts available is smaller. You can listen to podcats and do other things at the same time. It is not like video watching. Furthermore in podcasts you can find information that no way can be found on websites in textual form. In other words: podcasts are 100% worth listening to, and if you don't listen to podcasts you are missing out... Only by listening to podcasts you can get the most out of your Windows Mobile phone. So here are the very latest, very fresh, episodes of podcasts about Windows Mobile phones: Sirius XM Radio player for Windows Mobile released December 01, 2008; [with touch-screen] Updated: screenshots added! If proxy servers at your office are blocking Sirius XM Radio streaming, then why not using your Windows Mobile phone to stream it independently (note: unlimited data plan is recommended then)?
More info and more screenshots of this application: twitpic for Windows Mobile - available December 01, 2008; [General] Nowadays not only Twitter is used even by mainstream media, but another popular trend is: posting pictures to twitter through twitpic service. However there is only one twitter client, that supports twitpic: NetFront browser from Japanese company Access is still alive ! Still for FREE ! November 30, 2008; [with touch-screen] When we interviewed Access company at the latest Mobile World Congress, they promised to release NetFront with new version and built-in Flash - around summer this year. It has not happened, but still free "NetFront Browser v3.5 for Windows Mobile Concept Version" is available and it works very well with full websites (it can still handle some websites, that neither MS IE nor Opera can handle): Watch American content like hulu.com thanks to Skyfire for Windows Mobile ! November 29, 2008; [with touch-screen] Apple by definition forbids running Internet browsers other than Safari (it lacks Flash!) in their iPhone, so iPhone users will never get Skyfire browser! SNL, hulu.com and many other Flash-based sites offer USA-only content, that cannot be viewed at all outside of USA - users just get a message "you are outside of USA, you can't view it" or something like that. Thanks to Skyfire for Windows Mobile though, you can view such content even if you are outside of USA:

YouTube and Flash working inside Opera Mobile November 29, 2008; [with touch-screen] Why wait for new Internet Explorer Mobile 6, that however may be available for new phones only, if you can get Flash and full YouTube already now? Safe Mode 3 for Windows Mobile eleased November 27, 2008; [General] It is like Safe Mode in your Windows XP or Windows Vista, but this one is for Windows Mobile! With this program you can make your Windows Mobile more stable and you can gain more control over it. Some highlights about this phone: Rumor: HTC Touch HD in UK has issues ! November 27, 2008; [with touch-screen] Orange UK carrier obtained exclusive rights for HTC Touch HD for British market, so that no other carrier can sell this phone (with subscription; it is available also without subscription in online stores), but it looks like a lot of people are returning this phone and generally employees of Orange UK are discouraging people from purchase of this "exclusive" phone: Pharos Traveler 619 GPS Smartphone goes on sale at Dell USA November 27, 2008; [with touch-screen] Not available yet at website of Pharos, but already on sale at Dell! Here comes a low-end 2G phone with GPS and 640x480 touch-screen (Dell claims it is VGA display!!!).
