Austrian far-right politician Joerg Haider has been killed in a car crash near Klagenfurt, capital of the province of Carinthia where he was governor. Haider was 58.
Haider’s sudden death comes at a time when a resurgent far-right took power in a coalition government with conservatives in Austria only weeks ago. In elections held on September 28th, The Social Democrats (SPOe) took 29.7 percent of the vote while the conservatives (OeVP) secured 25.6 percent, the far-right Freedom Party (FPOe) won 18.0 percent and, stunning political pundits, Haider’s Alliance for Austria’s Future (BZOe) doubled its previous election results with 11.0 percent. Leftist politicians caused a snivelstorm upon the win, whining that Austria had “rejected European values”. Read more »

This MESS, this ECONOMIC MESS with Fannie and Freddie BEGAN, was instigated by, was promulgated by, NONE OTHER than Bill Clinton (that despicable despot) and Alan GreenSPAM.
This so-called Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Franklin D. Raines of Fannie Mae, was a Clinton appointee. Franklin D. Raines TOOK the money, got the money, drained the Coffers of Fannie Mae - have him RETURN the money. Why is HE allowed to KEEP the money? He Stole It. He got it under false circumstances. He is definitely not entitled to this money.

WABC radio program director Phil Boyce has announced that he is leaving the station after 14 years at its helm. The Citadel VP of News/Talk programming was in charge of all ABC Radio news/talk stations, including WLS-AM in Chicago, KABC-AM in Los Angeles, and WMAL-AM in Washington, D.C. Boyce also launched and oversaw the syndicated shows of Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Matt Drudge.
Boyce leaves the position as ratings released earlier this week show WABC scoring its highest share ever as a talk station.
Boyce reportedly has other projects in the works but has not disclosed them yet. An official replacement has not been announced, but speculation includes Mark Chertoff and John Mainelli.

Members of South Africa’s ruling African National Congress have been playing a slipshod game of damage control to combat growing voter interest in a new political party formed by disgruntled ANC members.
Emergency meetings were held at ANC headquarters all day Tuesday, with party leader Jacob Zuma even cancelling his trip to the Eastern Cape to in part avoid heckling from Mbeki supporters, but to also combat rumors that the ANC now wished they had not forced Thabo Mbeki out of power early. In one press conference, Zuma likened Mbeki to Nelson Mandela and said the ANC will send Mbeki to Zimbabwe to carry on with his mediation “because he understands the situation there”. Zuma also said that Mbeki would be used to front for the ANC in the 2009 election. Read more »
