Felix Five Presents the UR mix
August 28th, 2008
So this week Christchurch and next week Wellington, here in NZ, play host to Mad Mike and DJ Skurge from UR (Underground Resistance), the label founded by Jeff Mills and “Mad” Mike Banks.
UR has been around since the late 80’s and whilst the discog is predominately Detroit Techno, it has infused almost every other type of electronic music, pretty much always with a message!
Here’s the best bit…
“In addition to playing two gigs, Underground Resistance will be participating in a mentoring programme for at-risk teenagers around the Wellington region. The gigs are to fund UR travelling to NZ to participate in this program, with any profit from the events being directed back in to the community.”
How dope is that? Yup, very! So if you want to go to one of the best gigs and help kids out who need a little help go to Culture Club, in ChCh on Sat 30 Aug and/or Curve Bar in Wellie on Fri 05 Sep… tickets are only $20!
So here’s the mix, and it’s all UR… just 37 minutes, and all tracks are from UR* - Interstellar Fugitives 2 (Destruction Of Order)
Here’s the playlist
044 - Diskensertion, S² - Kamasutra, S² - Nasty, The Deacon - Multi-Dimensional Drama, Unknown Artist - Untitled, Suburban Knight - Predator’s Language, The Unknown Soldier - Babylon’s Gifts, Mad Mike & Trinity - Burnings Spear, The Aquanauts(Vocals By Spawn) - Crackzilla, Mad Mike - Attack of the Sonic Samurai (the battle within), DJ Dijital, Vocal By Mr.bubble - Bang, Perceprion (2) - Song of the Hmong
And check the events on Obscure - Sat 30 August in Christchurch, and Friday 5th September in Wellington.

In the fading dusk of civilisation covert operatives have arrived from deep in our collective future.
