Bank cash withdrawals increased again
Zimbabwe’s central bank will yet again raise daily cash withdrawal limits this week, amid mounting tension and threats of serious protest action by civil society. As of Thursday the daily limit of Z$500 000 will be increased to Z$100 million a week – which has been averaged at Z$14 million a day. It is still unclear how the banks will determine the public’s daily withdrawal limits, but there are doubts this increase will make any difference on the ground. |

Dear Family and Friends,
A few days ago I had no choice but to travel past the farm my husband and I legally bought in 1990 but which was grabbed from us by a mob of government supporters 10 years later in 2000. In the eight years since then I've never had any official written communication from the government of Zimbabwe about the farm - not even a letter.... Read more |
