Lake Chaparral is a private gated community granting access to the 3 fishing lakes, kids fishing pond, beach, showers and other amenities to only those who own property within the subdivision. The subdivision is heavily treed - a beautiful contrast to the flat prairies of Kansas. This area is part of the natural beauty that Linn County is known for. The subdivision offers multiple property uses and there is great flexibility in how you can use your property. There are stick built homes, manufactured homes, small cottages, RV's parked one a permanent bases, and lots set up to easily pull in an RV.

Directions to the property from Mound City are: North on Hwy 7 for 3.6 miles, turn left on 1150th (aka Ln 548), follow for 1/2 mile, turn right on Knapp Ln, follow 1/2 mile to you come upon the Welcome to Lake Chaparral (sign).

There are 3 lakes in the subdivision. One of the lakes allows up to a 60 hp motor so you can enjoy water skiing. Jet skies are also allowed on the lake. Times for both of these are between 10 AM and 4 PM. There is a kids fishing pond. The lakes are stocked as funding permits.

The area is experiencing great growth due to its proximity to the Kansas City Metropolitan Area and the Highway 69 corridor.
