Default 4th and Goal fantasy football podcast - Show 8

Welcome to 4th and Goal, hosted by Michael Stephens! Nate is out of the “office” this week, so it’s time for another solo flight from Mr. Stephens! While this week’s show might not have that witty banter and the one-two punch you want each week, it’s loaded from top to bottom with relevant injury news and sleeper advice to help guide you through the maze of fantasy situations week eight is sure to provide. With a seemingly never-ending injury report and a couple of great e-mails, the show will move into our best Would You Rathers and On the Fences of the season (we hope), as well as our picks against the spread and shameless pimping of our show and all things Cafe! Want to know which garbage-time quarterback will fill your bye-week void? Or, how about whether or not you should trust the projections of the major fantasy sites when it comes to a guy like LaDainian Tomlinson? All of that and more can be found in episode 8, so without further ado it’s time to call your best play or hit the showers, because it’s 4th and Goal!

INTRODUCTION
• Host: Michael
• 4th and Goal is brought to you by the Fantasy Football Cafe
• The show will come to you “live” every Friday morning (until the Thursday games, then we’ll move to Wednesday nights or Thursday mornings)
• Tweet with us, at 4thandG

QUICK SLANTS (2:03)
• Flea Flickers – two more e-mailers with good questions, and why Michael likes Chris Wells over Shonn Green (though Nate disagrees)…
• As well as a quarterback problem we all wish we had – the lesson? Trade a QB if you have two top-five guys!
• Diva Report (6:25)
• We’ll give you one guess as to who made this section this week (clue, he’s a Penn State alum)
• Wounded Ducks (8:25)
• Two lower-tier QBs here, but one of them might actually be worthy…this week, that is…
• A mixed bag of RBs including some big names, some fringe starters and a guy you need to own before he gets healthy
• LOTS of big-name WRs on this list, but it’s good news for most of them!
• IDP meat wagon – The most injured defensive players we’ve had in a given week this season, yikes!
• Hot Routes – game balls to last week’s top fantasy performers (17:00)
• Muffed Punts – the games of the week, not-top-10-style! (18:36)

CAFE TALK (21:06)
• This week, Michael dives into three posts from around the football Cafe, as he giggles maniacally at the opportunity to offer advice without question (again)!
• Again, if you have two top QBs and one of them is not starting, sell one of ‘em already!
• Don’t even consider starting a guy you should have dropped a long time ago, please?!
• Too many options at WR and RB is NEVER a bad thing – just make sure you start the “right” ones on the right weekends!

WOULD YOU RATHER (24:00)
• Last week: 3-2; Nate picked the wrong Austin and Michael underestimated Shockey
• Which QB in the “Worst Show Ever Held on Turf” makes for a better spot-start?
• I’ll take a side of Rice please, but not the Brown variety.
• Who cares if you’ve scored in four straight? Michael doesn’t…
• If you weren’t a believer before, you sure as heck should be now!
Two fringe starting D/STs you might have to consider this week. (Make sure to check out Comm1680's defensive formula if you haven't already - its a GREAT resource)

LOCKS AND FLOPS (28:08)
• Last week started to take a turn for the better, as we managed a 5-4-3 week!
• Three guys each host loves for the upcoming week – listen up and you’ll find out who they are!
• …and three more that aren’t worth a start this week…

AGAINST THE SPREAD (31:34)
• A pair of 4-1s have us both moving in the right direction!
• Three picks against the spread – we’re hoping to have better luck with the home teams this week!
• Two over/under props – the biggest and smallest lines of the week, as per usual…

CONCLUSION
• Thank yous
