Default Podcast Intro/Outro Music?

Where can I find the best deal on buying music for my podcast? Does anyone else have tunes in their podcasts?

Sound Ideas has a lot of material that you can get for a relatively good price.

This is an affiliate link to their podcast production tool kit, which will save you $20. (Disclosure: If you buy from there I make a few bucks)

For $99, you get 1,000 mp3 files of Production Elements, Royalty Free Music Tracks and Sound Effects. I saw them at Podcast Expo and think this a good buy for podcasters who want legal sounds and music to add to the podcast.

How does the law stand if you borrow these cds from a friend and use them for a production?

I'm not a lawyer so this is not any kind of legal advice.

My guess is that when you buy the CD you are buying a license to use the sounds. If you borrow the CD you don't have any license rights, so it seems to me like you would be using the content without a license and be in violation of their copyright. That's just my common sense take on the issue, although I have no idea on what the real legal opinion would be on this.

Default Podsafe Music Network

You can always search the instrumental music section at the Podsafe Music Network. www.podsafemusicnetwork.com You just have to state where you got the music, etc each episode. However, it's free.
