Hi just a general interest issue a friend sent me an mp3 file. When I opened it on iTunes it automatically recognised it was a podcasts and even directed me to the url for subcription. How does iTunes recoginise this from just a standard mp3 file. Also where is the information such as the program synopsis stored sometimes when I check the porperties the comments section which is where I assume they are stored is empty. Please help?

I'm not sure how iTunes automatically recognized the podcast address and asked you to subscribe. However, it should recognize an mp3 file that has been tagged as a podcast in the id3 tags. id3 tags are information about the mp3 file - title, genre, comments etc - this is the stuff that shows up in you ipod window.
Rob over at podcast411 has a great write up on id3 tags that you should check out.
