Does anybody have any suggestions for good sources of intro/outro music?

Any ideas what makes for a good intro/outro?

thanks

Sometimes it can just be something you like. For instance, Escape Pod uses a Japanese "surf music" band, I think, just because Steve Eley likes them.

My podcast is a little different in that I spotlight the music of a single group or artist each show. For the intro music, as well as the music in the background while I am speaking, I use music by the artist that I am not featuring in the show. I do not use an outro, as I play a promo at the end of each show.

I'm not sure what your show is about, but I would try to find something that worked with the subject or something that you simply like.

Thanks George.

I guess I could just cut out a clip in Audacity and then use that for the intro/outro.

Can I use just any music I like or do I have to get permission or something? Do you know?

You need to get permission. If it's RIAA music then you can forget it. OTOH, if there is a group or artist you like then just tell them what you'd like to do, and let them know that you will give them credit. I work with every group (or their management) I play, and although sometimes some are slow getting back to me (and sometimes I resend the email two or three times), they will certainly appreciate it.

If you have an idea as to what kind of music you'd like to play but would like a suggestion as to group/artist, then just let me know. I play an Eclectic Mix of music on my show, so I'm all over the map as far as genre is concerned.
