This is a short edit from a longer speech given by Dr. Lucy Wilson (her husband, Dr. Harrison Benjamin Wilson, was formerly the President of Norfolk State University) at the Chesapeake Virginia of the NAACP annual Jubilee held on 01/05/1997. This section gives a narrative that describes being on a train and taking notice of the inventions created by Black people (People of some level of African and/or Indigenous descent).http://www.thehistorymakers.org/biography/lucy-r-wilson-41Educational Administrator Lucy Wilson was born on September 23, 1930 in Hartsville, South Carolina. She received her B.S. degree cum laude from South Carolina State College in Orangeburg in 1951 and her M.S. degree in guidance and counseling from Indiana University in Bloomington in 1954. After completing her M.S. degree, Wilson served as the dean of women at Albany State College in Georgia from 1954 to 1956. While serving as a dean of students, her continuing studies were funded by the Danforth Foundation. Consequently, she received her Ed.D. degree in guidance and counseling in 1960.She then returned to Orangeburg, South Carolina where she worked as the dean of students at Claflin College from 1956 through 1962. After completing her doctorate, Wilson was hired as the assistant program director for guidance services in the Department of Education and Testing Services at Princeton University from 1962 through 1967. #HappyKwanzaa ! #Kwanzaa Day 5 - #Nia with the #Semi-Conscious #BBoy ( #FlyGuysPodcast )Nia (nee-AH)Purpose"To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness."The fifth principle of the Nguzo Saba is Nia which is essentially a commitment to the collective vocation of building, developing and defending our national community, its culture and history in order to regain our historical initiative and greatness as a people. The assumption here is that our role in human history has been and remains a key one, that we as an African people share in the grand human legacy Africa has given the world. That legacy is one of having not only been the fathers and mothers of humanity, but also the fathers and mothers of human civilization, i.e., having introduced in the Nile Valley civilizations the basic disciplines of human knowledge. It is this identity which gives us an overriding cultural purpose and suggests a direction. This is what we mean when we say we who are the father's and mothers of human civilization have no business playing the cultural children of the world. The principle of Nia then makes us conscious of our purpose in light of our historical and cultural identity.http://endarkenment.com/kwanzaa/nguzosaba/nia.htm
#HappyKwanzaa Day 4 - #Ujamaa with the #Semi-Conscious #BBoy ( #FlyGuysPodcast )The Swahili word ujamaa means 'extended family', 'brotherhood' or 'socialism'; as a political concept it asserts that a person becomes a person through the people or community. Nyerere used Ujamaa as the basis for a national development project."To build our own businesses, control the economics of our own community and share in all its work and wealth."Ujamaa also stresses self-reliance in the building strengthening and controlling of the economics of our own community. President Nyerere has said self-reliance in Ujamaa means "first and foremost... that for our development we have to depend upon ourselves and our own resources" (43). The assumption here is that we must seize and maintain the initiative in all that is ours, and that we must harness our resources and put them to the best possible use in the service of the community. This, he says does not mean denying all assistance from or work with others but of controlling policy and shouldering the essential responsibility for our own future.

Self Determination with the Moorish Science Temple's Credit Union. The Fly Guys converse with Sister Lakeema Bey and Brother Kenick El of Temple #14 of the Moorish Science Temple about the upcoming Moorish Science Temple Credit Union. Both are members of the Moorish Science Temple of America ( http://msta1913.org ) The MSTA statesa this about their organization:We organized as the Moorish Temple of Science in the year of 1925, and were legally incorporated as a civic organization under the laws of the State of Illinois, November 29th 1926. The name Moorish Temple of Science was changed to the Moorish Science Temple of America, May 1928 in accordance with the legal requirements of the Secretary of the State of Illinois. The object of our Organization is to help in the great program of uplifting fallen humanity and teach those things to make our members better citizens.A National organization with a Rotarian complexion as it relates to branch Temples became obvious with the increasing number of inquiries from men and women in different sections of the organization. There are branch Temples in fifteen different states at this time.Since the work of the Moorish Science Temple of America was largely religious, the organization has been legally changed to a religious corporation and an affidavit to this effect has been properly filed in the Cook County Recorder's office of Illinois.Inspired by the lofty teachings of the Koran, we have it as the revealed word of God Allah. We shall foster the principles of its teachings among our members. This is our religious privilege as American citizens, under the laws of one of the greatest documents of all time, the American Constitution.Contact Kenick-El:https://www.linkedin.com/in/kenick-el-39327b126/
