When she saw her score, she had got 85%. Rachel’s parents were so happy that they almost cried. She too was elated (extremely happy) as her result had exceeded everyone’s expectations. Have you ever been to an art exhibition and seen abstract paintings, different models or structures which sometimes you don’t understand? However, when you read the narration or interact with the creator, you get to know the artist’s point of view. For e.g., if we see a circle in a painting with wavy or curvy lines around it, an artist might imagine that it is the sun radiating (giving away) its positivity and life. Did you notice that the same shape is understood or perceived differently by different people? Any person who is not interested or inclined towards art may perceive paintings as different colors or structures as basic shapes. However, an artist may perceive these as emotions or landscapes or people performing some tasks.  Transcript Today’s word is: Adhere –The meaning of Adhere is: to stick to something, either literally or figuratively, to stay firm in supporting or approving or to follow an instruction or rule strictly. In this English vocabulary lesson, you will learn how to use the word Adhere. It could be following some rules or guidelines or instructions or even a discipline. We can understand this better with Priya’s example. Priya was an environmental officer and she was in charge of conducting inspections at factories to monitor their waste disposal system. She would always personally visit the factories and ensure that the employees follow all the rules of correct waste disposal. Which means that she would check if the employees working in the factory would adhere to all the rules of the waste disposal system. Transcript Today’s word is: Immense –The word immense means: Extremely large, great, huge or vast. It could be with reference to the size of an object or even a feeling or an emotion. In this English vocabulary lesson, you will learn how to use the word immense. When we want to mention something in large quantities or high levels of emotions we can use the word immense to describe it. Immense stands for great quantities or extremely high volumes.
