Episode 31 - Managing Perfectionism With Compassion ft Dr. Libby Quinn | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:44:46

Perfectionism. We have all heard of it. You might also have experienced this in yourself at times and in others. Whether you identify strongly with perfectionism or not, you may very well have this core-belief resting under the surface and not know. Perfectionism can often present in our minds as a strong inner-critic, as often not feeling "enough", overwhelm, procrastination, not saying yes to opportunities, or expending effort in one or several areas in your life to have things "just right". Perfectionism has actually become a glorified trait to have in this modern age. In fact research demonstrates that it is a modern life of endless opportunities that is also contributing to the rising rates of perfectionism. Some may argue that perfectionism allows them to achieve the success that they have accomplished. However, the research also demonstrates that perfectionism is strongly linked to higher rates of stress, anxiety and depression. Perfectionism can breed a negative inner voice which means we are in fact being motivated by fear. Fear of failing. Fear of not being "good enough". Operating from this space is not going to breed optimal psychological wellness. We need to truly drop Perfectionism and replace it with "healthy striving" that comes from a consistent practice of Self-Compassion. If you struggle with perfectionism, procrastination, not feeling "good enough", this episode is for you where you can learn evidence-based practical strategies on how you can develop more self-compassion and let go of Perfectionism. By doing this you will come to operate from a space of more positivity, more action and less procrastination and experience consistent psychological wellness. We hope you love this episode and if you do- please be sure to hit subscribe and also share a screenshot on your stories and tag me @kyiecamps Thank you to today's sponsor of this episode, Australian Natural Care. They have nearly 100 vitamins and supplements and over 500 wellness products in their range. Now, you might not have heard of them as yet but let me tell you they are a legit company. They sell online directly from their website and I recommend jumping over to their website to peruse their range. The two products from the range that I have been taking now consistently for two months include the Magnesium 1000mg capsules and also A Good Night's Sleep. This is a product that I really really stand behind. A Good Night's Sleep is a traditional calming and sedative herb mixture for sleeplessness and it also includes added magnesium. Now as I mentioned I am also taking the Magnesium supplement. This was recommended to me personally and of course you should always check with your own healthcare provider but Magnesium was recommended to me because I struggle with low moods and irritability just before my period is due. And since being really consistent with taking the recommended dose for myself for the last 8 weeks, honestly, my PMS symptoms have really, really reduced. I am no where near as grumpy, my cramps aren't as bad and I feel really, really good on this product. It doesn't make me nauseous, the tablets are easy to swallow and I just really, really believe in Australian Natural Care. If you'd like to check out their range, make sure you visit the show notes and I'll pop a link to their website. I also have a 20% off discount code to share with you which is KC20 If you've been meaning to prioritise your health and wellness then definitely jump over to www.ausnaturalcare.com.au and have a look for yourself at the super high quality products they stock.
