In August 2017, ESPN pulled a young broadcaster off of a Univ. Virginia football game because his name was Robert Lee, bearing resemblance to "Robert E. Lee," whose statue lead to a violent riot in Charlottesville, Virginia. Janib Abreu Ihaia is an accomplished TV broadcaster who has worked in Denver, New York, and Miami. In 1999, she was offered a job at WABC/Eyewitness News in New York, provided she change her 1st name to "Jan" to be "less ethnic." Janib breaks her silence on this subject in a candid interview. Richard Sandomir, longtime media reporter for the NY Times, has authored a book about the story of an iconic movie, "Pride of the Yankees," starring Gary Cooper. The story behind the podcast was Seth's daughter who learned about Lou Gehrig. She then saw the iconic "luckiest man" speech from the film. Sandomir also comments on the state of the Media in 2017.
